The Knox Building, commonly referred to as the “Poliakoff Building” was originally built as a tavern in 1873. For over a century, the building was owned by the Poliakoff family , and contained the D. Poliakoff department store from February 1900 to August 2000. In the twenty years that followed, the Poliakoff family still owned the building but it was occupied by other businesses. In 2021, the Reuland family, owners of Knox Building LLC purchased the building from the Poliakoff family.
